First individual accolade for Prijović
Aleksandar Prijović’s goal against Xanthi sealed PAOK’s qualification to the Greek Cup semi-finals and was acknowledged as Regency Casino Best Goal of February by users of paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App.
He has only featured in 10 games, but he is already leading the scoring charts for PAOK with 7 goals. Aleksandar Prijović adjusted to his new team in no time and started his career at the “Double-Headed Eagle” in ideal fashion.
In their Greek Cup quarter-final encounter against Xanthi in Pigadia, PAOK hit the ground running, determined to seal qualification from the first leg. Giannis Mystakidis gave the lead to the visitor and Lazić equalized after the interval. Vladan Ivić introduced Prijović in the game and, a few minutes later, the newly-signed forward responded with a splendid goal. He controlled the ball with his chest and volleyed an impeccable shot, execution-style, to beat Živković and hand his side a valuable victory.
In the poll held on paokfc.gr and PAOK FC Official App for the designation of Regency Casino Best Goal of February, Prijović’s goal prevailed comfortably, landing 60,61% of the vote. Dimitris Pelkas’s beautiful lobbed goal against Veria in Toumba got second place, while Pedro Henrique’s winner in the home victory over Asteras Tripolis was voted third.
