FC Olimpik Donetsk kick off league with victory
FC Olimpik Donetsk started their Premier Liha campaign in Ukraine on the right foot, prevailing 2-0 at Oleksandriya over the local side.
PAOK’s rival in the upcoming UEFA Europa League 3rd qualifying round presented a 16-man squad, as their roster has just 19 players right now and three of them weren’t available for the match. Head coach Roman Sanzhar fielded Makharadze as goalkeeper, Lukyanchuk and Nyemchaninov at right back and left back respectively and Kravchenko with Shabanov in the centre of his defence. Tsymbalyuk and Bohdanov were the holding midfielders, with Khomutov before them as playmaker. Shestakov covered the right wing and Moha the left, while Bilenkyi spearheaded the attack.
FC Olimpik started strongly and took the lead in the 17th minute, Khomutov making the best of Moha’s pass. Nineteen minutes later, Nyemchaninov made it 2-0 and that proved the final score of the encounter.
