Ergys Kace, the dead-ball specialist
He doesn’t score often. Finding the net isn’t his main duty on the pitch anyway. When he scores however, he does it in spectacular fashion and in the most crucial times. In the encounter against AO Kerkyra he proved that he is a dead-ball specialist and earned the Best Goal award for April.
As things were getting tough for PAOK, they were awarded a free-kick in a favourable position. It was their opportunity to escape victorious from Corfu, despite playing with ten. Usually it’s Christian Noboa who steps up to take set pieces. However the Ecuadorian midfielder stepped aside and let Ergys Kace score with a masterful stroke.
The astonishing free-kick of the young midfielder swept the competition in paokfc.com’s poll with 88,62% of the vote. The header and the side shot of Dimitris Papadopoulos, his two goals against SKODA Xanthi, were distant second and third.
It’s the second award for the Albanian midfielder of PAOK, as his free-kick was also voted Best Goal of the matchday in the vote organized by PSAP, Super League and Nova TV.
