Pedro Henrique joins PAOK FC

PAOK FC announce the signing of Pedro Henrique Konzen from Stade Rennais FC. The Brazilian player penned a deal linking him with the “Two-Headed Eagle” until June 2020.

30.01.2017

Born on 16 June 1990 in Santa Cruz do Sul, Brazil, he made his first steps in football after joining the local club’s youth teams at the age of 13. In 2007, he moved to Avaí FC, but completed the season at Grêmio FC, participating in youth matches.

He made his professional debut at the ranks of Esporte Clube Avenida, featuring in the Campeonato Gaúcho de Futebol of Rio Grande do Sul state. A few months later, he moved to SER Caxias do Sul, where he was given the opportunity to showcase his talent and score his first professional goals. His performances attracted the interest of various European clubs and it was FC Zürich who persuaded him in January 2012 to cross the Atlantic ocean and compete in the Swiss league.

He adjusted in no time and in his first semester in Europe he conjured 1 goal and 3 assists in 15 appearances. In the 2012-13 season, he totaled 1 goal and 2 assists in 18 games.

He enjoyed a stellar season in 2013-14, with 11 goals and 7 asssists in 40 games and a lead role in FC Zürich’s journey towards the Swiss Cup final. However he didn’t get to participate in the trophy match due to suspension. He was ready for his next step when Stade Rennais FC offered him an opportunity for football at a higher level.

He didn’t face any adjustment issues in Ligue 1 and was thrown in at the deep end from the start. His tally in the first season at Stade Rennais FC was 3 goals and 5 assists in 40 games and added 3 goals and 1 assist in 25 encounters in 2015-16. In the current season, he already scored twice and served two assists in 14 matches, before asking to move to PAOK FC.
