«Edging closer to our objectives adds to our energy»
Diego Biseswar spoke to Novasports TV and shared his thoughts regarding the encounter against Panathinaikos in the Olympic Stadium of Athens.
Regarding absent players and his extra work on the pitch:
«It’s very saddening. I am upset for Dimitris. But that’s football. It’s a shame we won’t have Dimitris and Omar with us on Sunday, but we have many players in our squad and they will help us achieve our goals«.
Whether physical or mental fatigue is the major problem deriving from back-to-back games:
«That’s life for footballers. They must be able to handle consecutive encounters if they want to play. We must do our job, recover well between matches and be fresh before kick-off in order to win the remaining games without looking for excuses. We are in good shape and we want to remain like that«.
On the team’s form:
«As we approach the end of the season and edge closer to our objectives, we feed off each other’s energy and want the same things. We all try to give something extra to the team to facilitate victories. We must bring our 100% out on the pitch«.
Regarding the recent winter transfer window:
«They are all helping and we have a good chemistry. That is good, since the guys joined an already close-knit group and adjusted quickly. They were immediately helpful on the pitch and at the same time helped the team remain fresh. Our good vibes in the squad are key both for old and new players. We all helped the newcomers and wish to help them even more in order to improve«.
On the extension of his contract:
«Nothing has changed. I am happy that the contract issue is over. One never knows what tomorrow brings in football, but I would like to remain here until I hang up my boots. I have still three years ahead. We will see what happens«.
Regarding the match against Panathinaikos:
«It will be a tough one, just as all are. Panathinaikos have a good, youthful side and high expectations. They play good football and are motivated to defeat us, the league leaders. It will be a tough match, but I believe it’s up to us«.
On the elements that PAOK must display:
«We must play our game, be creative from the flanks and the middle«.
