«I train like crazy!»
Pontus Wernbloom spoke exclusively to Novasports TV ahead of the upcoming encounter against AEL in Larissa. Read what the Swedish player said regarding his rehabilitation procedure and the team’s trajectory so far.
On his condition:
«I feel well. I am in a good mood and I train like crazy«.
Whether he will play on Sunday:
«I would love to, but the guys are doing an excellent job«.
Regarding his injury and being sidelined for so long:
«I left everything in the hands of the doctors and tried to empty my head to focus on work. My cooperation with the doctor and the physios is excellent. I don’t dwell on being unlucky or anything of the sort. I have kept such thoughts away. It’s boring not to play, but I believe that everything will go well and I will back strong«.
Regarding the team’s trajectory so far and his own contribution:
«We all have to support the team, who have done an impeccable job so far. We all have to help«.
Regarding his return to action:
«I don’t ask about it. I will return when I am told I am ready to play again. There’s no doubt in my mind that I will be one of the strongest players of next season’s league. I have started jogging and I will gradually join trainings«.
Regarding the source of his strength during his recovery period:
«The psychological aspect of the recovery procedure is more trying. It’s boring to do the same thing day in day out. It would have been tougher to go through all that in Sweden. I chose to remain here and work with a wonderful team helping and supporting me. I like training, so no problem there«.
Regarding the encounter against AEL and PAOK’s 93rd anniversary:
«It’s an important and tough match for sure. I believe the guys are aware of the game’s significance. I trust in them. If they win, it will be a magnificent result for them and the team. It will be fantastic to win. Let me wish “happy anniversary” to the club. Shortly we will have something bigger than the anniversary to celebrate«.
