Hat-trick of awards for Dimitris Giannoulis

A historic performance from Dimitris Giannoulis sees the PAOK left-back become the first player ever to win all three monthly awards after picking up the nak Play of the Month award for August.

22.09.2019

Dimitris Giannoulis made a blistering start to the new season which kicked off last month. The result? After winning both the 11888 MVP award and the Regency Casino Best Goal award, he has now added the nak Play of the Month award to his haul of prizes, taking 62,11% of the public vote.

This time though he also owes a measure of debt to his team-mates, since the play which won him the award was the result of a great team effort in the match against Ajax at the Toumba. Chuba Akpom was the man who finished off a superb move which was started from the back by Fernando Varela. Giannoulis continued the move with a lung-bursting overlap run, however, and picked out English forward Akpom in the penalty area with a superb center.

Leo Matos came second in the vote for his off the ball movement for the second goal against Ajax, while Alexandros Paschalakis was third with his penalty save against Ajax captain Tadic in the second leg against the Dutch side at the Johan Cruyff ArenA.
