International call-ups

Greece may have lost the opportunity to qualify for Euro 2020, but the team will use the remainder of the qualification campaign to build the foundations for the future, and the next World Cup. The Greek national team travel to Armenia (15.11, 21:00) and host Finland (18.11, 21:45) with coach John van ‘t Schip including Giannoulis, Limnios and Paschalakis in his squad.
Sverrir Ingi Ingason has been included in Iceland’s squad for their Euro 2020 qualifying matches against Turkey (14.11, 19:00) and Moldova (17.11, 21:45), while Enea Mihaj is also in the Albania squad for their matches against Andorra (14.11, 21:45) and France (17.11, 21:45).
Omar El Kaddouri is also in Morocco’s squad for the African Nations Cup qualifiers. The Moroccans play host to Mauritius (15.11, 21:00) and travels to Burundi (19.11, 15:00).
Giannis Michailidis has also been named in the Greece Under-21 squad for the away match against Scotland (15.11, 21:00). The Scottish, who have played a game more, are currently leading the group by a single point, and the Greek side are looking for a win which would take them to the top of the standings.
To PAOK players have also been selected for Nikos Kechagias’ Greece’s Under-19 side for their upcoming EURO 2019 qualifiers. The duo called up are Christos Talichmanidis and Christos Tziolis. Greece is competing in Group 4 along with Belgium, Albania and Iceland. The order of fixtures is as follows: Albania (13.11, 20:30), Iceland (16.11, 20:30) and Belgium (19.11, 15:30), with all matches held in Belgium. Two teams from each of the 13 groups will qualify and the best third-placed team, who together with the No.1 ranked team, will make up the 28 teams who will compete in the next stage (Elite Round). Among the squad selection is PAOK’s Kyriakos Giaxis.
In the Under-17 Greek national team age group, six PAOK players were selected among Anastasios Theo’s selection and they are: Konstantino Koulierakis, Titos Koutentakis, Vasilis Kitsakis, Giannis Karakoutis, Zisis Tsikos and Giorgos Koutsias. Greece will play in Group 9 for the 2019-20 European Championship, with the matches being played in Patra and Nafpaktos. Greece faces Azerbaijan on 13.11 (15.00), Kazakhstan on 16.11 (15.00), and Germany on 19.11 (14.00). Something to note is the fact that Koutsias and Tsikos, who were both born in 2004, are the youngest players in the 20-player squad.
