Recovery and kicking off preparations for Xanthi

The derby clash against Olympiacos is now in the past. PAOK once again came away from the Georgios Karaiskakis unbeaten against our main title rivals and now all of the attention switches to the upcoming match against Xanthi at the Toumba – a match which bookends the first half of the season.

The Dikefalos tou Vorra maintained its form at the top of the Super League table, along with Olympiacos, and players and coaching staff have now began to prepare for a challenging series of matches leading up to the Christmas holidays.

The first test is the visit of Xanthi. PAOK play host to the Akrites on Saturday (07.12) at 18:00, so there’s no time to ease off the accelerator. And so, just hours after the match in Piraeus, the team met up at Nea Mesimvria to begin the planning for the next match.

Those players who started against Olympiacos following a lighter program of recuperation and recovery exercises on the training pitches, in the gym and in the swimming pool, while the rest worked on fitness through a series of games and exercises.

Leo Jaba and Pontus Wernbloom remain the only two players sidelined, and both followed their respective individual recovery programs.

On Tuesday (03.12) PAOK will train at 15:30 at Nea Mesimvria.
