Against Panathinaikos, Adelino Vierinha netted for the first time this season. Not only that, he even scored twice to salvage a draw at the Toumba. The second strike was a penalty which made it 2-2, but the first was, well, a masterpiece. The ball was rolled to him on the edge of the penalty area and without hesitating, The Leader fired a lightning bolt of a shot past Sokratis Dioudis, awakening fond memories of some of his stunning goals from last season.
Then there’s Josip Misic, who continued his excellent form with solid performances combined with goals and assists. In the match against OFI Crete in Heraklion, the Croatian scored the only goal of the game and it was an impressive one. After some nice build-up play, Dimitris Limnios teed Misic up perfectly, and the Croatian curled a superb first-time shot into the back of the net, giving the opposition goalkeeper no chance.
Last but not least is the club’s top scorer, Karol Swiderski. The Polish forward won the game for PAOK against Larissa at the Toumba. Latching on to a right-wing cross from Adelino Vierinha, Swiderski got in between the visitors defence to score with a clever, flicked finish.
