Barely time to catch a breath
Just several hours after the derby win over AEK, the PAOK squad and coaching staff were back again at the club’s training base in Nea Mesimvria to start the preparations for the second leg of the Greek Cup Round of 16 tie against OFI at the Toumba.
January is a month packed with fixtures, and there’s little time for rest and recuperation. On Wednesday (15.01) the Dikefalos tou Vorra welcomes OFI Crete with a handsome 3-0 advantage from the first leg last week, but there is no scope for relaxing against the Cretans.
On Monday (13.01) the squad was slit into two groups. Those players who featured in the starting lineup in the derby against ΑΕΚ carried out a recuperation session, which combined work on the training pitches, in the gym and in the swimming pool. The rest executed a high-intensity program which was focused mainly on fitness, but which also included rondo, passing drills and a friendly match at the end.
Jose Crespo did some lighter work as a precaution due to his recent return from injury, while Omar El Kaddouri training normally without any issues. Leo Jaba continued his individual injury recovery training program.
On Tuesday (14.01) PAOK will train again at 11:00 at Nea Mesimvria.
