Paschalakis’ buzzer beater save claims the prize
Alexandros Paschalakis’ save in added time against OFI Crete in Heraklion has come out on top in the vote for the nak Play of the Month for July.
The matches was coming to a close, and the 2-2 scoreline was not really the result that either team wanted. The Dikefalos tou Vorra players were surging forward en masse to try and get a winning goal, and in the 97th minute OFI tried to take advantage with a counter attack. Manous released Neira who went through one-on-one against Paschalakis. The home forward directed a first-time, side-footed shot goalwards. It seemed destined for the back of the net, but The Goldkeeper was there to make an impressive diving save to ensure that his team preserved the draw.
And in the vote for July’s nak Play of the Month, Paschalakis went up against Mauricio in a closely-contested battle, but in the end it was the former who won the individual award. The Playmaker came second, while Dimitris Limnios was third.
