Michailidis: «We keep the lessons learned, now let’s go for the win»
Giannis Michailidis spoke to the Novasports cameras ahead of the upcoming match against Lamia. Read what the young defender said via paokfc.gr.
On if PAOK needs to forget about the mid-week match against PSV Eindhoven:
«Yes. We have to put that game behind us. You always need to do that when you lose a game so that you can concentrate on the next match, and try to get your mind in the place that it should be.»
On how much they studied the reasons why the team lost:
«We will be analyzing it with the coach at some point. There’s no time right now, because we’re only thinking about the net match. We want to go to Lamia and win.»
On whether or not the match against PSV was simply a blip following four straight wins.
«I can’t really say. We started the game really well and scored two goals, but we did not start the second half as well and we paid the price.»
On if the defeat resembles a lesson to learn from:
«Every result or game that doesn’t go our way is a lesson for us. We learn from defeats, but as I said we are putting it behind us and focusing on the future.»
On the match against Lamia:
«It’s a tricky game since there’s also a bit of fatigue from the current series of games and the traveling. They are a good side, irrespective of the position they are in the league table. It’s a tricky and tough away game.»
On what the PAOK need to be wary of:
«We expect Lamia to sit back due to the different dynamics between the two sides. We need to be very mindful of their counter attacks as well as their set-pieces.»
If the previous league game against PAS Giannina is a useful benchmark for the game against Lamia:
«We played well against PAS, and we won relatively comfortably, so we can try to reproduce some of the key aspects from that performance.»
