Just like in December, when Christos Tzolis won the award, there are only two players in the running. But this time Tzolis has some tough competition.
Against Larissa, the The Golden Boy was a joy to watch. He scored his first professional hat-trick in a performance which helped the Double-headed Eagle progress to the quarter-finals. His second and third strikes were quite exceptional. For the first he latched on to a long ball from Douglas Augusto, and showed excellent technique to control the ball and then nimble feet to skip past a defender and goalkeeper before clipping home to make it 2-0.
In the second half, it was his third goal that made it 5-0. Lamprou released Tzolis with a precise slide-rule pass, and he surprised the goalkeeper with a powerful early shot into the opposite corner of the goal.
For Tzolis to claim yet another individual award, he needs to beat Adelino Vieirinha . The Leader took on the responsibility of a free-kick in the derby against ΑΕΚ and he scored following a combination with Andrija Zivkovic to make it 2-2.
