Rodrigo’s masterpiece
Rodrigo Soares’ beautiful strike against Lamia has won February’s Regency Casino Best Goal according to your votes.
It was one of those goals where just before the player prepares to shoot that you think «what is he doing?», and then the moment the ball nestles in the back of the net you say «how did he do that?. One thing is certain. Rodrigo was in need of a psychological boost in what has been a difficult season for the player, and he got that at the right moment. February was a great month overall for the Brazilian full-back.
In the Greek Cup clash against Lamia the Brazilian scored his first goal in a PAOK shirt. And what a goal it was! He picked up the ball outside the penalty area, looked up and immediately sent a superb looping effort over the opposing goalkeeper.
In the poll for the monthly prize, Rodrigo received 51,36% of the vote and was took home the Regency Casino Best Goal for February.
In second place was Andrija Zivkovic’s thunderous strike, also against Lamia – but this time in the league, and the podium was completed by Stefan Schwab, who netted with a brilliant side-footed effort also against the Fthiotida club in the away leg of the Greek Cup.
