Five ‘finals’ on the horizon
There are 22 days left in the season which will decide everything. The 2020-21 campaign is entering into the final straight and PAOK are preparing to play five ‘finals’ to try and finish second in the Play Offs and to lift the Greek Cup trophy.
The celebrations on defeating AEK and reaching the Greek Cup finla lasted a few hours. The rest day on Good Friday was necessary in order to recharge the batteries and to empty the mind. Now the Double-headed Eagle turns their attention to the five remaining games of the season, starting with the OAKA derby against AEK.
The preparation of the team started on the morning of Holy Saturday in Nea Mesimvria. The players who started the semi-final match at the Toumba executed a recovery and rehabilitation program in the gym and swimming pool.
The rest went out onto the practice pitches to do work covering all aspects. Running exercises and rondo came first, after which the emphasis was placed on the movement of the ball and the team’s passing game.
Jose Crespo, Omar El Kaddouri and Shinji Kagawa received physiotherapy treatment. Adrian Pereira did an individual program on the training pitches without feeling any discomfort, and he will gradually reintegrate into full training.
Finally, Einea Mihaj continued his reintegration program.
On Easter Sunday, PAOK will train at 10:00 in Nea Mesimvria.
