Schwab wins Fans’ Man of the Match award
Stefan Schwab came out on top in the poll for the Fans’ Man of the Match for the first-leg match against Rijeka in the 2021-22 UEFA Europa Conference League Play Offs.
PAOK played well. Much better than their opponents. They dominated, created many opportunities, and showed stability in defense. However, once again all of that was not enough. One defensive mix-up, combined with a lack of substance at the other end of the pitch, saw Razvan Lucescu’s team stumble to a 1-1 draw at the Toumba Stadium, with the first leg of the Play Offs clash not giving an advantage to either team.
One of PAOK’s leaders was Stefan Schwab . The Austrian was excellent against the Croatians, dominating the midfield, and also helping his team in every area of the pitch. He battled until the last minute for the team, giving all his strength, and then some.
In the Fans’ Man of the Match poll, Schwab recevied 40.05% of the public vote and won the individual title.
In second place was George Koutsias, who came off the bench in the second half and gave freshness and added impetus to the attack, while while the podium was completed by Jasmin Kurtic, who produced an assured, all-round midfield display in his second start in a PAOK shirt.
