Getting acquainted with Victoria Stadium
The last training session before a European match is usually a light session in nature focusing on final preparations. Some final details of tactics, work on set-pieces, and some general points about the upcoming match. However, this time the final training session in Gibraltar was different.
This is because PAOK are called upon to adapt to a special situation and play on a synthetic pitch in Gibraltar, and so Wednesday’s training session (15.09) offered the only opportunity for the players to prepare for the conditions that they will encounter in the match against Lincoln.
The training session included focus on specific aspects of the tactical approach, as well as work on static phases and set-piecves, while there was also a mini-friendly played out in the final part.
The Double-headed Eagle squad have now completed their preparations and the team is ready for the premiere of the UEFA Europa Confercene League group stage against Lincoln, who are one of the rookies in European competitions this season, with the aim clearly being to start with three points to boost their chances of qualifying for the next phase.
