Back to base and all eyes on the derby
After an exhausting series of three away games in a row, PAOK return to their base. Not for rest or relaxation of course, but to prepare for the upcoming derby match. It’s time for the derby of the Double-headed Eagle’s on Sunday (26.09) at 20:30 at the Toumba. The team’s first big derby match of the season.
PAOK are back in Nea Mesimvria after gaining maximum points in Gibraltar, Tripoli and Agrinio. The team has shown a marked improvement in their performances in each match, and everyone is keen to continue the winning streak against an AEK side which has made a complete ‘restart’ this season.
Those who started against Panetolikos followed a recovery and rehabilitation training program on the practice pitches, the swimming pool and the gym, while the rest of the group executed a high-intensity workout featuring possession and ball movement games, as well as a tactics lesson and some fitness work.
Crespo and El Kaddouri followed an individual training program in the gym, while Ingason participated in part of the program with the main group before then doing some individual work. Finally, Vieirinha stayed in the pool and in the physiotherapy room, and from Friday he will return to full training with the squad.
On Friday (24.09), PAOK will train at 10:30 in Nea Mesimvria.
