Lyratzis: «Happy with the new contract, now for victory on Sunday»
Giannis Michailidis shared his thoughts and insights on the upcoming Super League Interwetten derby clash against AEK, as well as on his new cttnract, to the Novasports cameras. Read what the Greek defender said via paokfc.gr.
On the renewal of his contract with PAOK:
«It is a difficult process to move from the academy to the first team and stay there. It takes a lot of work and patience. The team has trusted me and renewed my contract, and from my side nothing will change; I will continue to work hard and give my absolute best.»
My teammates helped me a lot, everyone who played with me made me feel very comfortable, as if I was in the team for a long time. My goal is to win a key place in the team; we cannot really talk with confidence about the future. We have to put our heads down and look to the next day.»
On how the team is developing this season:
«I always think positively and I think at the end of the season we will all be smiling. I see the way the team works and the dedication of the players. Mr. Garcia had his own style of play, and Mr. Lucescu has his own plan too. Perhaps the mentality of players is a little better.
We also have some new players who will gradually adapt to the club’s climate, because all the players work very well. The good thing is that there is competition, it is good to have this in every team. All I can do is work hard and when the opportunity comes I will try to prove myself.»
On the derby with AEK:
«AEK has a competitive team, but I am not afraid of this match because we have good momentum. Maybe the static phases will help us because we are strong im this aspect, and we should take advantage of them. It will be a nice feeling to have the supporters with us and on our side because they always helps us.»
