Nicolás Quagliata becomes a PAOK player
PAOK FC annonces the acquisition of Nicolás Quagliata from Montevideo Wanderers. The 22-year-old Uruguyan midfielder has penned a contract with the club until June 30 2026.
Born on June 5, 1999 in Montevideo, Quagliata was destined for a life in football. His father, Oscar, was a striker, and Nicholas grew up watching him on the pitch.
He stood out from a young age both for his technical abilities, but also for his mentality. He went through all the stages of Uruguay’s developmental football, starting with the academies of Defensor Sporting. In 2017 he was transferred to Montevideo Wanderers’ reserve team and in May 2019 he went on to make his professional debut. The rest is history.
Qualiata became the team’s main No.10 and up until June 2022, he made 78 appearances, scoring seven goals, and dishing out 13 assists.
PAOK moved quickly to get his signature and make him a resident of Thessaloniki for the next four years, giving him the opportunity to test his abilities in Europe.
