Hicham Kanis joins PAOK
PAOK announces the acquisition of Hicham Kanis from Panserraikos. The Moroccan has signed a contract with the Double-headed Eagle until June 30, 2027, and he will remain on loan at the Serres club until the end of the season.
He was born on August 16, 1997 in Vimercate, Northern Italy, to Moroccan parents. He joined Renate’s academies from a young age and in 2012 he took the next step and switched to Albinolefe.
He made his professional debut in October 2015 against Pavia, even managing to find the back of the net. He played on loan at Catanzaro, Sion and Cuneo, before signing for Fano.
After one season he moved to Zemamra and in the middle of the campaign he went to Pergoletese for six months.
In the summer of 2021, he decided to accept Panserraikos’ proposal and become a resident of Greece. In Serres he found his… personal Ithaca, and in the 2021-22 season he was named the top foreigner of the Northern Group of Super League 2, while this year he is also putting in some excellent performances.
In total, in a Panseraikos shirt, Kanis has made 47 appearances, scoring 24 goals and contributing two assists.
Kanis is also an international with the Morocco Under-20 team, for whom he has made appearances.
PAOK decided to sign him on a contract until the summer of 2027, allowing him to remain at the Serres club until the end of the season.
