PAOK Under-19s drop points in Tripoli
Although PAOK’s Under-19 side virtually had all three points within their grasp until the 89th minute, they were eventually forced to leave Tripoli with a 1-1 draw against a dynamic Asteras, once again giving an element of “wild beauty” to this particularly ambiguous title race.
PAOK were the more aggressive team in the first 45 minutes, managed to take the lead after 59 minutes through Kalogiros’ side-footed effort from Smyrlis’ assist, however, the home team continued to press, had relative control of the game in the second half, and equalized in the 89th minute with a well-taken penalty kick.
The Double-headed Eagle remain at the top of the Super League standings with 42 points, two points clear of Olympiacos, while AEK (who they host next Sunday) have 37 points, and Panathinaikos on 34.
PAOK lineup: Angelidis, Georgiadis (20′ Martos), Deligiannis (46‘ Pasachidis), Sinanaj, Zilos, Goumas (46′ Tsikos), Scznauzcner, Kalogiros, Smyrlis, Hatsidis (87′ Ibrahim), Adam.
