Under-19s defeat Ionikos 3-0
PAOK’s Under-19 side managed to complete what was required of them on Sunday, defeating Ionikos 3-0 on Matchday 25 in Mesimvria. Malezas’ and Hatziathanasiou’s team remain in second place, one point behind Olympiacos.
PAOK had complete control from the kick-off, and in the 25th minute they opened the scoring through Chatsidis. The hosts then missed several chances to score a second goal before the break. The goalscoring touch came back to them in the second half, with Smyrlis making it 2-0 with a header in the 52nd minute from Athanasiou’s cross. Essentially, the game was over as a contest at that point, since Ionikos did not manage to threaten the home side’s defence in any case. PAOK’s continued pressure and superiority brought a third goal, this time an own goal, in the 70th minute.
PAOK lineup: Nikolakoulis, Adam (75′ Koupenos), Sinanai (68′ Deligiannis), Kastidis, Pasachidis, Schnautsner, Smyrlis (75′ Politakis), Rumiantsev (75′ Goumas), Hatsidis (57′ Gitersos), Kalogiros, Athanasiou.
