Happy Birthday Filipe!
Our midfielder Filipe Soares turns 24 today, and PAOK FC would like to wish him many years of health, happiness and successes on both a personal and professional level.
Born in Lisbon on May 20, 1999, he showed his footballing talent at an early age, winning a place in Benfica’s academies in 2007.
He progressed through all the age categories and the stages of the educational process at the Eagles and reached the reserve team, with which he made his debut in the second division in February 2017, before he even turned 18.
In July 2018 he moved to Estoril and had a full season in the Portuguese second division, making 31 appearances and scoring two goals.
His appearances and playing characteristics led Moreirense to move to acquire his services and give him the opportunity to play in the Portuguese top flight for the first time.
The start was difficult, as shortly after his debut he suffered an injury that held him back a bit, but Soares returned stronger and by December 2021 he established himself as one of the best midfielders in the league and a rising star of Portuguese football.
He even won a place in the Portuguese Under-21 side and he remains part of that squad today, having gone through all of the younger age groups at international level.
PAOK offered Soares a new challenge in his career and the Portuguese midfielder accepted it.
Soares has so far made 41 appearances for the club, scoring two goals.
