PAOK\u2019s latest signing was born on 10 July 1989 in Callao, Peru, and started playing football at the youth sections of AD Cantolao.<\/p>\n
His impressive displays for Peru U17 side in the 2005 U17 World Cup caught the eye of FC Schalke 04, who invested in him and brought him to Europe in 2006, at the age of 16. He soon earned the trust of the German club\u2019s coaching staff and became skipper of SChalke\u2019s U19 team.<\/p>\n
Two years later, at the age of 19, he made his Bundesliga debut. He played a total of 20 games and scored once for the K\u00f6nigsblauen until 2010, when he moved to FC St. Pauli. He stayed in the Hamburg outfit for two seasons, conjuring up 1 goal and 3 assists in 31 appearances.<\/p>\n
His following destination was Eintracht Frankfurt, where he established himself as one of Bundesliga\u2019s top centre backs. He played 117 games for the \u201cAdler\u201d, before moving to Russia lured by FC Rubin Kazan.<\/p>\n
