«It\u2019s an important event of course, for us and for the whole city, one of Greece\u2019s biggest matches. However it\u2019s about these three points and that is what we are going after. Of course we want to win. Nothing ends here, the league will go on after this encounter<\/em>«.<\/p>\n

On his last Toumba match against Olympiakos and whether he considers Sunday\u2019s clash as a opportunity for personal payback:<\/strong><\/p>\n

«It happened two years ago and I believe it proved a turning point for Greek football. Since then, the Greek league has become\u2026 normal. We have started well, are sitting on a winning run and want to claim trophies. We must continue on the same pace. I am eagerly waiting for Sunday and want to take my revenge for what happened two years ago. However, there is nothing more important than the three points. We want to make our fans happy. The atmosphere will be excellent and we know how significant this match is for them. I believe that right now we play better than any other team in Greece and can defeat any rival<\/em>«.<\/p>\n

On the deciding factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n

«The key to win is the same in every match. We need to impose our game. We must fight as we always do in Toumba Stadium. We must keep ball possession. We must play as we did in previous encounters. We must not alter our style because we are facing Olympiakos. We want to play our game and we will do it. We play at home. We will play tough and aim for an early goal. If we play as we have been doing lately, nobody can stop us, not even Olympiakos. They are not the team they were. I think they are scared of us now. We are in fine form. We only want those three points<\/em>«.<\/p>\n

On the coaches of the two sides:<\/strong><\/p>\n

«It\u2019s not my place to answer this question. I can only say that our coach is excellent. His part in the 15-match winning streak is of central importance. He has changed many things and is pivotal in our success. I don\u2019t want to speak about the rival coach. I don\u2019t know what is happening in their camp, but what we are doing here is really good. We train hard, play well every week, score, don\u2019t concede goals and have improved considerably. I am very happy. The situation on and off the field is excellent. We are in a good mood and want to continue our winning run<\/em>«.<\/p>\n

On whether he singles out an Olympiakos player capable of troubling PAOK:<\/strong><\/p>\n

«We sit at the top of the standings. We have a six-point advantage over Olympiakos and we are stronger nowadays. We play better and win all our games. On the other hand, Olympiakos have good players, but I believe we are better, self-confident and have packed Toumba on our side. It will be a very tough game for them. We need to confirm our superiority on Sunday<\/em>«.<\/p>\n

On whether Sunday\u2019s result will decide the league race:<\/strong><\/p>\n

«Not at all, especially if AEK defeat Atromitos. Nothing will change. It\u2019s just another Sunday match. Of course it\u2019s special for us, for our fans and for Thessaloniki because we face Olympiakos. It\u2019s the biggest clash, a fantastic opportunity. But, at the end of the day, it\u2019s about the three points that can allow us to maintain our distance from AEK Athens. I believe that in a fortnight we will face a tougher test than the one of this Sunday. I am convinced that the encounter against AEK Athens will be the most important of the whole season. But, until then, we must defeat Olympiacos and Asteras Tripolis and get six points<\/em>«.<\/p>\n
