He joined the youth academy of local side\u00a0<strong>Breidablink<\/strong>\u00a0in 1997 and he remained with the club until 2013, breaking into the first team.<\/p>\n<p>At 18 he began to get playing time for\u00a0<strong>Breidablik<\/strong><strong>\u2018s<\/strong>\u00a0feeder club\u00a0<strong>Augnablik<\/strong>. He quickly got the attention of the parent\u2019s club manager,\u00a0<strong>\u00d3lafur Kristj\u00e1nsson<\/strong>, who made him one of his key players.<\/p>\n<p>In the\u00a0<strong>2013\u201314<\/strong>\u00a0season he became one of the best players in the league. He was voted the best player of\u00a0<strong>Breidablik<\/strong>\u00a0and made it into the divisions team of the year. He made 60 appearances with\u00a0<strong>Breidablik,\u00a0<\/strong>and won the\u00a0<strong>Iceland League Cup.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In January of 2014 he moved to\u00a0<strong>Norwegian<\/strong>\u00a0club\u00a0<strong>Viking<\/strong>. He teamed up with four of his fellow countryman there and immediately won a place in the starting lineup. Playing alongside the captain of the\u00a0<strong>Icelandic national team, Indri Sigurdsson,\u00a0<\/strong>he produced some impressive performances and won the Player of the Season award for his team in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>A year later it was time for a new challenge.\u00a0<strong>Belgian\u00a0<\/strong>club\u00a0<strong>Lokeren<\/strong>\u00a0proved the ideal destination for\u00a0<a class=\"boldlink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paokfc.gr\/en\/profiles\/sverrir-ingi-ingason-en\/\">Ingason<\/a>\u00a0, who remained there until January of 2017, making 70 appearances and scoring one goal.<\/p>\n<p>In the first half of 2017 he switched to La Liga with Granada, where he did exceptionally well even though the team did not manage to remain in the top flight. In the summer of the same year he transferred to\u00a0<strong>Rostov\u00a0<\/strong>for 1,2 million euros and continued to enhance his reputation.<\/p>\n<p>Now a truly experienced player, he had absolutely no problem adjusting there and won a place in teh starting XI straight away. In his first season he played 30 appearances, while he also managed to score three goals.<\/p>\n<p>In the 2018-19 season in Russia,\u00a0<strong>Ingasson<\/strong>\u00a0played in 17 games, scoring two goals.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, from January 2014 he has been a full\u00a0<strong>Iceland<\/strong>\u00a0international, having first played for the national youth sides. In 2016 he was a member of his country\u2019s impressive run at the\u00a0<strong>European Championships<\/strong>, while he also participated in the 2018\u00a0<strong>World Cup<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<strong>Russia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Since January 2019, he is a\u00a0<strong>Double-headed Eagle<\/strong> player, making 79 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists.
