2021<\/strong> is now in the past but as always, it was a year that left us with many memories. A difficult year in the league, another Greek Cup <\/strong>trophy, qualification to the knockouts of the UEFA Europa Conference League,<\/strong> and a lot of goals.<\/p>\n

In fact, some of these goals will remain etched in our minds for a long time. But which one was the best?<\/p>\n

Through paokfc.gr<\/strong> and the PAOK FC Official App,<\/strong> as well as our collaboration with Regency Casino<\/strong>, you voted for the best goals of the previous months. But now it’s time to pick out the best of the best<\/em>. The most beautiful goal scored by a PAOK<\/strong> player in 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are 10 superb strikes that will take part in the voting, from nine different scorers. Let’s have a quick look at the nominations.<\/p>\n

We start with Christos Tzolis<\/strong>. The young Greek<\/strong> forward scored an amazing and technically difficult goal against AEL<\/strong> in January<\/strong> during the game at the Toumba<\/strong> in the Greek Cup<\/strong>. He controlled a long ball superbly, skipped past the opposing goalkeeper and found the net with a delicate strike.<\/p>\n

The second candidate is a player who is not used to scoring. Rodrigo Soares.<\/strong> In another cup game against Lamia <\/strong>in February,<\/strong> the Brazilian<\/strong> scored a stunning goal with an incredible shot when off balance from outside the penalty area.<\/p>\n

Andrija Zivkovic<\/strong> takes the baton next. Against AEK<\/strong> at the Toumba <\/strong>in March<\/strong>, the Serb<\/strong> found the net after a headed pass by Ingason,<\/strong> scoring with a powerful shot while in motion from a wide position.<\/p>\n

In April<\/strong> it was Karol Swiderski’s<\/strong> classic center-forward goal against Asteras<\/strong> in Tripoli <\/strong>which has him up for contention. After a pass from Douglas<\/strong>, Swarovski<\/strong> took on the ball, swivelled 180 degrees and fired in a clinical shot.<\/p>\n

Michael Krmencik <\/strong>and his wonderful goal in the Greek Cup<\/strong> final against Olympiacos<\/strong> in May<\/strong> could not be left out of the vote. A brilliant through ball from Tsingaras <\/strong>was only bettered by a skillful backheel flick-on by A. Zivkovic<\/strong>, to send the Czech<\/strong> clean through on goal. The big striker didn’t disppoint, executing a clinical finish to score the winning goal.<\/p>\n

Thomas Murg<\/strong> is also a nominee for his effort in Croatia<\/strong> against Rijeka<\/strong>, while Diego Biseswar<\/strong> is also a serious candidate, with the great goal he scored at the Toumba<\/strong> against AEK<\/strong> from an extremely difficult angle and with many bodies between him and the goal.<\/p>\n

There’s a double candidacy for Jasmin Kurtic<\/strong> with two carbon-copy goals. The Slovenian<\/strong>\u00a0proved from the first months of his presence in Thessaloniki<\/strong> that he is a dead-ball specialist, and with the direct free-kick goals in Heraklion<\/strong> against OFI<\/strong> and at «Leoforos»<\/strong> against Panathinaikos<\/strong>, he has an increased chance of being the final winner.<\/p>\n

Last but not least there’s Chuba Akpom<\/strong>. The Englishman<\/strong> struck a wonderful goal against AEL<\/strong> at the Toumba<\/strong> to help the team seal qualification for the quarter-finals of the Greek Cup,<\/strong> and so is also in the battle to win the goal of the year award.<\/p>\n
