PAOK<\/strong> went to Piraeus<\/strong> with a clear plan, a cool head, plenty of passion and a hunger for a response to a poor display against AEK<\/strong> last time out, and achieved a memorable victory.<\/p>\n

From the first minute of the match, the visitors entered the pitch in determined mood, eager to push their game on the home side and did not give their opponents a look in.<\/p>\n

PAOK<\/strong> kept the ball, closed down the spaces, and focused calmly on building attacks on the home goal.<\/p>\n

In the first half, the Double-headed Eagle<\/strong> had two important chances, with A. \u017divkovi\u0107<\/strong> and Koulierakis <\/strong>going close, but also Kotarski<\/strong> made a great save from close range as Podence<\/strong> looked certain to score. However, the key moment of the first half came in the 39th minute.<\/p>\n

Taison<\/strong> and Baba<\/strong> combined perfectly, and the Ghanaian<\/strong> sent the ball into the penalty areas where Andrija \u017divkovic,<\/strong> with a shot on the move, made it 1-0 to PAOK, <\/strong>and that’s the way it stayed up until the half-time break.<\/p>\n

In the second half, the pattern of play did not change. PAOK<\/strong> did exceptionally well and in the 56th minute they won a penalty after Brandon Thomas<\/strong> was fouled by Porozos<\/strong>. The Spaniard<\/strong> did not miss from 12 yards and make it 2-0.<\/p>\n

Olympiacos<\/strong> tried to react, found the net but the goal was ruled out for offside, and then Brandon Thomas<\/strong> struck again to end the match as a contest.<\/p>\n

With another excellent team effort, Murg<\/strong> served up the final pass to the Spaniard<\/strong> to tap home gleefully into an empty net for 3-0 in the 66th minute.<\/p>\n

The pace of the match dropped noticeably afterwards, but PAOK<\/strong> continued to look dangerous in every attack. Magomed Ozdoev<\/strong> then put the icing on the cake.<\/p>\n

PAOK<\/strong> burst forward magically on the counter attack, and Konstantelias<\/strong> took center stage, playing a superb one-two with Murg<\/strong> to bisect the Olympiacos<\/strong> defence before then producing an audacious and unselfish backheel pass – instead of scoring himself – for the Russian <\/strong>to simply slam the ball home from close range into the unguarded net and make it 4-0 in in the 78th minute.<\/p>\n

All Olympiacos<\/strong> managed to do was reduce the score to 4-2 in the final stages with goals from Fortounis<\/strong> and Masouras <\/strong>as the PAOK <\/strong>defenders switched off slightly, when everything had already been decided.<\/p>\n
