{"id":796161,"date":"2024-04-14T12:20:47","date_gmt":"2024-04-14T09:20:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.paokfc.gr\/uncategorized-en\/20240414-xronia-polla-zivko\/"},"modified":"2024-04-15T11:18:55","modified_gmt":"2024-04-15T08:18:55","slug":"20240414-xronia-polla-zivko","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.paokfc.gr\/en\/news\/20240414-xronia-polla-zivko\/","title":{"rendered":"Happy Birthday Zivko!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Born on April 14th 1989 in\u00a0<strong>U\u017eice<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0<strong>Serbia,\u00a0<\/strong>Zivko caught the football\u2026 bug from his father, who was a fanatical supporter of\u00a0<strong>Partizan Belgrade<\/strong>. He grew up in a \u2018Black and White\u2019 household and from a young age had the desire to get involved with the game.<\/p>\n<p>He took his first steps at his local team of\u00a0<strong>Sloboda<\/strong>. He attracted the attention of\u00a0<b>Partizan\u2019s\u00a0<\/b>radar in\u00a0<strong>2005<\/strong>\u00a0and it was then that his dreams began to turn into reality as he soon joined the club\u2019s youth academy.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<strong>2007<\/strong>\u00a0he was elevated into the first team squad and signed his first professional contract. The road to establishing himself, however, was not an easy one by any stretch of the imagination.<\/p>\n<p>He was first loaned out to\u00a0<strong>Teleoptik<\/strong>. He returned, only to be loaned out again to\u00a0<strong>Metalac Gornji Milanovac,\u00a0<\/strong>with whom he celebrated promotion to the top flight with in the 2008-09 season. He helped the club remain in the top flight the following season as a member of the starting XI.<\/p>\n<p>He returned to\u00a0<strong>Belgrade<\/strong>\u00a0after that but found himself third choice in the pecking order. After one full season without any action, he went out on loan again to\u00a0<strong>Metalac.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The start of the 2012-13 campaign saw him move to\u00a0<strong>Teleoptik<\/strong>, but injuries back at\u00a0<strong>Partizan<\/strong>\u00a0saw the club end his loan spell and he returned to the capital.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Serbian<\/strong>\u00a0keeper battled hard for a place in the starting XI. Despite the tough competition, he did not give up and in\u00a0<strong>2015<\/strong>\u00a0his efforts were vindicated.\u00a0<strong>Zivko\u00a0<\/strong>established himself as first choice, produced some exceptional performances and remained the No.1 for a year, before a change of coach meant that he became a \u2018victim\u2019 of the new regime and lost his place.<\/p>\n<p>The end of the\u00a0<strong>2015-16<\/strong>\u00a0season saw his contract with\u00a0<b>Partizan\u00a0<\/b>expire and he decided to look for pastures new. He accepted a proposal from\u00a0<strong>Xanthi<\/strong>\u00a0and his career in Greek football began.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"boldlink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.paokfc.gr\/en\/profiles\/zivko-zivkovic-a-team-en\/\">Zivkovic<\/a>\u00a0enjoyed an action-packed three-year spell with the\u00a0<strong>Akrites<\/strong>, making 89 appearances and established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the country.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<strong>April 2019<\/strong>\u00a0it was announced via Social Media that he would not be continuing his career at\u00a0<strong>Xanthi<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>PAOK<\/strong>\u00a0did not hesitate to snap up the\u00a0<strong>Serbian<\/strong>\u00a0shot-stopper on a free transfer.<\/p>\n<p>Since then the\u00a0<strong>Serbian<\/strong> goalkeeper has made 62 appearances for the club and he has won one <strong>Greek Cup<\/strong>\u00a0in the 2020-21 season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Our goalkeeper Zivko Zivkovic turns 35 today, and PAOK FC would like to wish him many years of health, happiness and successes on both a personal and professional level.","protected":false},"author":32,"featured_media":796063,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[1520,5],"tags":[2378,2457,2534,3766,12648],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v18.5.1 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Happy Birthday Zivko!
