The Double-headed Eagle<\/strong> started the game with Kotarski<\/strong> under the posts, Sastre<\/strong> and Baba<\/strong> in the full-back positions, a defensive duo of Kedziora<\/strong> and Colley<\/strong> (in his first appearance), Schwab<\/strong> and Kamara<\/strong> in the center of midfield, Murg<\/strong> behind Tissoundali<\/strong> and Taison<\/strong> and Despodov<\/strong> in attack.<\/p>\n

And after overcoming an early surprise, when the home team were awarded a penalty but which Kotarski<\/strong> saved in only the third minute, PAOK<\/strong> took control.<\/p>\n

The visitors overcame any irritation or frustration, and soon began to threaten. In the eighth minute, Murg’s<\/strong> shot missed the target, while in the 12th minute, Kovac<\/strong>\u00a0caught Despodov<\/strong>, who, however, made sure to take advantage of Baba’s<\/strong> ball and win the penalty which also resulted in Ferrari<\/strong> being booked for his challenge.<\/p>\n

In the 24th minute of the game, Schwab<\/strong> slotted home in familiar fashion and put PAOK<\/strong> in front. Then from one of the quick attacks by the visitors, Ferrari<\/strong> stopped Sastre<\/strong> illegally and after being shown a a second yellow card the Argentine<\/strong> was sent off, handing PAOK<\/strong> a numerical advantage.<\/p>\n

Dominating from the first minute of the second half, PAOK<\/strong> then also scored a second goal in the 54th minute in an impressive manner. Tissoundali, Taison<\/strong> and Murg<\/strong> combined in the box, with Kamara<\/strong> shooting towards goal, only for his effort to strike teammate Murg<\/strong> before eventually finding its way into the net.<\/p>\n

Volos<\/strong> responded relatively immediately, reducing the score to 2-1 in the 56th minute with Mendieta’s<\/strong> header, just a few seconds after Kotarski <\/strong>had saved an earlier effort from the same player.<\/p>\n

However, PAOK<\/strong> remained focused and with an attacking attitude and with Taison’s<\/strong> perfect placed effort in the 60th minute, following Tissoundali’s<\/strong> assist, it was 3-1.<\/p>\n

In the 66th minute, Razvan Lucescu<\/strong> made some substitutions, with Bakayoko<\/strong> coming on for Schwab<\/strong> (a debut for the Frenchman too), Konstantelia<\/strong> for Murg, Otto<\/strong> replacing Baba<\/strong> and Chalov<\/strong> for Tissoundali<\/strong>. Then, in the 69th minute, Despodov<\/strong> also got his name of the scorsheet, but the goal was disallowed, as the Bulgarian<\/strong> was adjudged to have fouled Miletic<\/strong>. PAOK’s<\/strong> attacks continued to come in waves with Kovac<\/strong> stopping Konstantelias<\/strong> on two occasions and the crossbar «stopping» Kamara’s<\/strong> header in the 85th minute.<\/p>\n

The icing on the cake was reserved for PAOK<\/strong> in the 89th minute. In a paradoxical way, Chalov<\/strong> scored his first goal in a black and white <\/b>shirt, after Kovac’s<\/strong> mistake, making the final score 4-1.<\/p>\n

After the final whistle went and the celebrations were completed, it is time to start thinking about the next game against Galatasaray.<\/strong><\/p>\n
