{"id":911422,"date":"2026-05-13T23:04:05","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T20:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.paokfc.gr\/uncategorized-en\/20260513-match-report-paok-aek\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T11:49:49","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T08:49:49","slug":"20260513-match-report-paok-aek","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.paokfc.gr\/en\/news\/20260513-match-report-paok-aek\/","title":{"rendered":"PAOK will battle to the end after draw"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Razvan Lucescu<\/strong> started the match with two changes compared to the previous game at the <strong>&laquo;Georgios Karaiskakis&raquo;<\/strong>, with <strong>Taison<\/strong> and <strong>Ozdoev<\/strong> taking the places of <strong>Ivanusec<\/strong> and <strong>Zafeiris<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The two teams entered the game aiming to create with <strong>PAOK<\/strong> threatening first in the 14th minute. <strong>Taison<\/strong> found <strong>Jeremejeff<\/strong>, whose effort on goal was saved by <strong>Brignoli.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Shortly afterwards, <strong>Pavlenka<\/strong> made an excellent save from <strong>Varga&#8217;s<\/strong> header. <strong>Pavlenka<\/strong> also had the answer to <strong>Zini&#8217;s<\/strong> goal attempt, while in the 33rd minute <strong>Jeremejeff<\/strong>, went close with his header.<\/p>\n<p>The first half ended with a great chance for <strong>PAOK. Meite<\/strong> headed in a corner-kick from <strong>Taison<\/strong>, but the ball went just over <strong>Brignoli&#8217;s<\/strong> crossbar.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAOK<\/strong> came out strong in the second half and threatened in the 50th minute with <strong>Taison<\/strong> sending over a cross, but <strong>Brignoli<\/strong> made a save to avert any danger. A minute later, <strong>Konstandelias<\/strong> became a threat, but his shot went wide.<\/p>\n<p>In the 56th minute, an excellent team effort from the home side saw them almost open the scoring, <strong>Andrija Zivkovic<\/strong> fired in an effort on goal, but <strong>Brignoli<\/strong> made the save, and Jeremejeff was there to collect the rebound, but his effort deflected off <strong>Vida <\/strong>and went out for a corner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AEK<\/strong> responded with a shot by <strong>Zini<\/strong> which hit <strong>Pavlenka&#8217;s<\/strong> crossbar in the 60th minute, while moments later <strong>Joao Mario<\/strong> aimed a shot on goal, but <strong>Pavlenka<\/strong> cleared it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAOK<\/strong> had control of the match, but then found themselves chasing the score. <strong>Kutesa<\/strong> provided an assist for <strong>Jovic<\/strong>, who made it 1-0 to the visitors in the 73rd minute.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lucescu<\/strong> then made some changes, <strong>PAOK<\/strong> became more aggressive, and in the 88th minute they equalized with a header by <strong>Mythou<\/strong> after a corner-kick taken by <strong>A. Zivkovic.<\/strong> The hosts also had two great chances to complete a comeback win, but the returning <strong>Giorgos Giakoumakis<\/strong> missed the target.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAOK<\/strong> remain two points behind <strong>Olympiacos<\/strong> in the battle for second place and will fight until the last matchday to try and make an upset and claim a ticket for the <strong>2026-27 UEFA Champions League<\/strong> qualifiers.<\/p>\n<p>Team lineups:<\/p>\n<p><strong>PAOK: Pavlenka, Kenny (46&#8242; Sanchez), Kedziora, Michailidis, Baba, Meite (74&#8242; Bianco), Ozdoev, A.
