Panetolikos – PAOK: Mixed zone

After the final whistle of the encounter, Tzavellas and Korovesis talked to media representatives in the mixed zone in Agrinio about victory and coaching change at PAOK.

12.03.2016

Giorgos Tzavellas spoke about the necessity for that three-pointer and Dimitriadis’s debut in the Super League, while singing the praise of Vladan Ivić:

«It was important to show what we worked on –and we did it in the first half, when the pitch was still playable. We are happy that we brought our game on the pitch and overjoyed to record a much-needed victory. We were obligated to react. I believe that we had just one victory in the last eleven games. We had to turn things around under any coach. It’s important that we won. On a personal note, Ivić has helped me a lot. You know I don’t like discussing coaches. I am happy that he started off well, that the team reacted and that we played as we should. I am also glad that a new kid like Dimitriadis made his debut for PAOK, as Kakko did against Panthrakikos. They come from the club’s youth sections and I am very happy for them. We must get all points in upcoming games. We face Kalloni next week. They might be bottom-ranked, but we need to focus in order to win«.

Nikos Korovesis, who celebrated his first goal for PAOK, spoke about the change brought by Ivić on the team’s morale:

«While the pitch was still playable, we scored twice. The rain made things worse in the second half, but we still were able to play football and score a third goal. We were good, I hope we will continue on this path. A coach change affects a team. Our morale is higher, we are more motivated and we need to show what we can do. That was the key today. We were more focused, playing with our backs against the wall. We will do better with the new coach«.
