On the encounter:

«It was an interesting game. Both sides enjoyed opportunities to score. In the first half, we had possession but lacked substance. Panionios were threatening, as we expected them to be. Goals get scored because of errors. I was expecting a different result, but we have a long way ahead and we need to correct several things in our attacking and defensive function. That is what we will work on in upcoming days. We must be more focused during the game«.

On PAOK’s different approach in the second half and Panionios’s counterattacks:

«It’s a known fact that Panionios play a counterattacking game. We tried to stop them, worked on that all week long and wanted to be more effective in our own counterattacks. We also lacked luck. We started well in the second half, we reacted, but lost several chances after their second goal. Then, on another counterattack we conceded a third goal. I was satisfied with our effort in the second half. The players fought and ran a lot. It wasn’t enough, but this game is already behind us. We look ahead«.

On defensive errors:

«The overall defensive function is important. I don’t single out anyone, as I have already stated. Without errors, goals don’t get conceded. I will repeat that to the players and we will try to analyze it. We will make an effort to remedy the situation, because there is a long way ahead«.

On the team making it to the play-offs:

«If we get deducted five points, it will be hard of course. We need to make a great effort. I believe we have a very good team and I am sure that we will react immediately, in the next game. We will work hard and try to get the points we need –there is no other way to go about it«.

On Athanasiadis missing the upcoming games through suspension:

«That will make our effort even harder. We will be deprived of the only central forward at our disposal. We are expecting other players to return to action though. We need to focus on the roster at hand and make our plans accordingly«.
