U11s win the Catnic Cup

PAOK U11 squad prevailed in one of Germany’s most prestigious youth tournaments, that boasted the participation of 64 clubs, including Juventus, Liverpool FC, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern München

In the evening of Holy Monday, the Catnic Cup trophy will land in Thessaloniki, as Andreas Balabanis’s troops return from Stuttgart loaded with wonderful experiences and images.

In the «last 8» stage, PAOK defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-1, lost 1-0 to 1. FC Nürnberg and played a goalless draw with VfB Stuttgart. In the semi-final, the «Double-Headed Eagle» prevailed over FC Augsburg in the penalty shootout (0-0 in regulation time) and advanced to the final. They won the trophy with a 1-0 victory over 1. FC Nürnberg.

A special mention is due to the warm hospitality offered to PAOK’s delegation by Greek families in Germany.

On 13 May, the U11s will be back to Germany for the Led Lenser tournament and they will travel to Paris for the World Cup in July.

PAOK U11 squad consisted of : Thomas Avgoustidis, Spyros Angelidis, Stefanos Aliferopoulos, Christos Almyras, Vasilis Karapatsias, Panagiotis Pekridis, Giorgos Kampouris, Konstantinos Theodosiadis, Dimitris Kottas, Giorgos Makris, Nikos Mavris, Christos Kosidis, Konstantinos Goumas, Dimitris Papaevangelou.

The players were accompanied by coaches Andreas Balabanis, Antonis Krinitsas and Kostas Vourtsis.
