«Aiming for victory with our fans’ help»
Vladan Ivić spoke to Novasports TV regarding the last game of the season. The coach of PAOK underlined the team’s high morale and their fans, who will come to Toumba for the first time in the play-offs.
On what he keeps from the match against AEK Athens and his thoughts on the encounter against Panathinaikos:
«First of all, I would like to keep my players’ focus, their will to win and patience on the pitch. They all made a great effort and managed to hold on to a result as valuable as victory. That point earned gives us the boost to face the last game from the driver’s seat and aim for first place«.
On the absences and the few hours of rest between games:
«All teams are on the same schedule. All teams will play within 48 hours. We will have absent players, our rival as well. But I believe that we will field the best possible line-up to get what we want out of the game«.
On the presence of fans:
«It’s been a long time since we played before our fans and that is very satisfying for us. We expect them to be our 12th player and help us with their support, because the team deserves it. We have proved our worth in these five play-off games, we did what we could to overtake our rivals in the standings as they had more points to begin with. That’s why I expect our fans to support us from the first to the last minute«.
