«Team results come first»
Ahead of the encounter against Xanthi in Toumba for Super League matchday 5, Željko Brkić shared with Novasports TV his first impressions, his personal and team objectives and spoke about his teammate Panagiotis Glykos.
On his decision to join PAOK:
«I knew about PAOK before coming here. They are a big club, aiming high and that was very important to me, a huge motivation«.
On Glykos being the starting goalkeeper so far:
«It’s normal, because I joined preseason training at a later date. Now I am here and I am expecting Mr. Ivić to hand me an opportunity. For now, Panagiotis is getting more minutes. However, regardless of me playing or not, getting good results is the most important thing. Of course I want to play, but the team must win and aim for first place«.
On his first impressions of Thessaloniki:
«At PAOK I saw everything I was already expecting to see. I knew I was joining an important club and I am happy to be here. I am waiting for my chance to play. Everything is excellent here, it’s a very organized club and I got to witness first-hand everything I had been told about PAOK fans. They are amazing. With their support we can fulfill our objectives«.
