Derby preparations get underway
After two days off to rest and recover from a tough period of fixtures, PAOK’s players and coaching staff got back to business on Tuesday ahead of this weekend’s derby clash against Olympiacos at the Toumba on Sunday (23.02).
Abel Ferreira and his players passed through the doors at the club’s Nea Mesimvria training base to begin preparing for the upcoming top-of-the-table showdown at the Toumba. The program featured passing drills and fitness conditioning exercises.
Dimitris Giannoulis trained individually to nurse a knock that he picked up in the match against Larissa, while Andre Vieirinha took part in only half of the session in order to rest his knee after he picked up a slight injury against Panathinaikos last week.
Charis Tsiggaras had to withdraw from training midway through the session after picking up a knock to his foot. He will be examined by the medical staff to determine the seriousness of the injury. Leo Jaba and Jose Angel Crespo continued their respective treatment and recovery programs as their continue to work their way back from injuries.
PAOK will train at 11:00 at Nea Mesimvria on Wednesday (19.02).
