Happy Birthday Karol!
Our striker Karol Swiderski turns 23 today, and PAOK FC would like to wish him many years of health, happiness and successes on both a personal and professional level.
Karol Swiderski was born Rawicz in Poland on January 23, 1997 and his talent shone through from an early age. He made his first steps in football in the Ravia Rawic Academy before he moved to the athletic school of UKS SMS in Lodz.
In the summer of 2014, he was signed by Jagiellonia Białystok and initially he played in the B team which took part in the Polish third tier.
His performances caught the attention of the senior team coaches and he was soon brought into the squad. In his first season he made seven appearances and scored his first professional goal for the club on June 3, 2015 against Pogon Secin.
For the next three-and-a-half years he established himself as a key member of the starting XI at Jagiellonia, and the club twice finished runner-up in the second division.
Overall, Swiderski made 128 appearances, scoring 25 goals and contributing nine assists, while completing 5,000 minutes on the pitch.
In parallel, he was part of Poland’s national youth team setup up to Under-21 level, and his name was frequently penciled into the notebooks of some of Europe’s top scouts.
When the time came to move on, PAOK beat off competition from both Genoa and Stuttgart for his signature.
In his first six months with the club he enjoyed great success, scoring six goals in 15 appearances as PAOK won the Greek domestic league and cup double.
Overall, the Polish forward has scored 27 goals in 80 appearances in a black and white shirt, while he has also contributed 8 assists.
