And the derby series continues…
PAOK defeated Aris, chalking up their second Play Offs win in a row, and now all the attention turns to the next derby challenge, against Panathinaikos at the Toumba.
Thursday (22.04) saw the players take a break with a rest day to recovery from the hectic series of matches during this final stretch of the season, and on Friday (23.04) they were back at Nea Mesimvria to work on the preparations for the next game.
The players who played in the match at the «Kleanthis Vikelidis» did a recovery and rehabilitation program in the gym and swimming pool, while the rest went out onto the training pitches for a high-intensity program aimed at keeping the fitness levels sharp.
The training included running exercises, rondo, work on the team’s passing game and some games in small spaces of a high-intensity nature. Shinji Kagawa and Adrian Pereira trained individually on the practice pitches, Jose Crespo stayed in the gym and received some physiotherapy treatment, while Ingi Ingasson did part of the full program with his teammates before breaking off to do some individual work.
The day’s really good news was that Enea Mihaj trained again with the main group for the first time since his serious knee injury for part of the session before also breaking of to continue his lomng-term special program.
On Saturday (24.04) PAOK will train at 11:00 at the Toumba.
