Returns and absentees…

The international break is over, and the players away on duty for their countries have returned back to base. The PAOK squad is now “officially” in preparation mode for the next part of the season and a demanding fixture list which awaits until the next international break in November.

13.10.2021

Naturally, Wednesday was somewhat a day of adjustment for the players who returned from their obligations with their respective national teams. They followed special individual training programs due to the strain of the matches played and the traveling.

One player who was forced to take a break away from his teammatres is Haris Tsingaras, who tested positive for Covid-19 on his return to Thessaloniki. The other members of the Greece Under-21 team, which was hit by the coronavirus, tested negative, however, they have entered a protocol of gradual reintegration to the squad and will undergo new tests before integrating with the rest of the group.

The other problem Razvan Lucescu has to deal with is Sidcley. The Brazilian felt some discomfort in his thigh and remained in the gym for treatment. His ability to participate in Sunday’s game will be evaluated in the coming days. Jose Angel Crespo, who is not yet ready after getting injured in the match with Lincoln, also followed an individual training program.

The training program on Wednesday (13.10) was chiefly about possession, ending with exercises played out in limited spaces, and some tactics lessons, as the team prepares the tatical approach for the match against Volos.

On Thursday (14.10), PAOK will train at 11:00 at the club’s Nea Mesimvria training base.
