PAOK are gearing up for another ‘final’ against FC Copenhagen for Matchday 4 in the UEFA Europa Conference League. It’ a make-or-break game that can either give the Double-headed Eagle a big lead at the top of the group or complicate matters depending on the outcome.
The PAOK squad continued their preparations for the match with work focused mainly on tactics. On Tuesday (02.11) the training session kicked off with the necessary warm-up and the established game of rondo, and then Razvan Lucescu took center stage.
The focus was initially on the team’s attacking behaviors with a heavy emphasis on build-up play. Then the baton was passed to tactics around breaking up the opposition’s play through various exercises focused on better adaptation to certain situations and rapid transitions.
Douglas Augusto felt some discomfort in his thigh and withdrew from the session mid-way through. The Brazilian midfielder will undergo an MRI scan to assess his condition. Mitrita, Sidcley and Oliveira all received some treatment and completed a special training program in the gym.
On Wednesday (03.11) PAOK will train at 10:30 in Nea Mesimvria, with the first 15 minutes of the training session being open to media representatives. At 13:30 in the press room at the Toumba Stadium Razvan Lucescu and a representative of the players will be giving their pre-match press conference.
The Copenhagen press conference will be held at 19:15, while the Danes will train at at 20:00 at the Toumba.
