The opportunity and the way ahead
PAOK’s competitive advantage in the Toumba derby was unfortunately not transformed into three points, and the gap between second and first remains the same. But the Double-headed Eagle and Dikefalos continues its effort as it follows the away game with Apollon Smyrnis.
Razvan Lucescu’s team missed the opportunity to edge closer to their opponents, but at the same time confirmed that they are on the rise in this «reconstruction» season, as the Romanian coach has described it many times.
On Monday (31.01) morning, the PAOK squad gathered again in Nea Mesimvria to begin the preparations for the match at Rizoupoli. The players who started against Olympiacos followed a special wind-down and recovery training program. The rest of the group worked on fitness, ball movement and tactics. Diego Biseswar, who left the pitch on Sunday feeling some discomfort in his midriff area, underwent treatment and he is expected to be able to train normally on Tuesday (01.02).
The training session on Tuesday (01.02) is scheduled for 11:00 at the club’s Nea Mesimvria training base.
