- Andrija Zivkovic scored twice in the match against Hajduk and reached the 30-goal mark for PAOK in that game, while on Sunday against Asteras Tripolis he added two more and now has 32 goals from 146 matches in all competitions with the Double-headed Eagle. The Serb now has 9 goals with PAOK in European competitions and is in the top five of all time, having overtaken Aleksandar Prijovic, who also got nine, as did Vieirinha . In front of him are Yiasemakis (10), Mak (11), Salpingidis (14) and Athanasiadis (20).
- This will be the first time PAOK face Hearts and only the second time they have faced a team from Scotland. Their previous experience of Scottish opposition was with Rangers in August 1998 for the then UEFA Cup qualifiers. PAOK, coached by Oleg Blakhin, were defeated 2-0 in the first match with goals scored by Kanchelskis and Wallace, while the two teams drew in the Toumba match.
- The only Greek team Hearts have faced is AEK, in the 2006-07 Champions League qualifiers, and they were beaten twice, 2-1 at home and 3-0 at the OAKA.
