PAOK B finish first in the Play-outs [with pictures]

PAOK B’s demanding and complex season came to a close with an away draw at Niki Volos on Matchday 10 of the Super League 2 Play-outs.

03.05.2025

PAOK’s second string  took the lead late on in the 88th minute, were pegged back in the 95th minute, but still finished the mini-league in first place with 23 points from eight games and will therefore play again in the division next season, along with Kavala and Niki Volos. Diagoras and Ethnikos Neo Keramidi have been relegated to Greece’s third tier.

The first quarter of the match saw both teams trying to feel each other out. PAOK B then began to move the ball better, without, however, making any inroads on the opposing team’s goal. On the contrary, the home team probably had the two most important attempts in the half, with the Double-headed Eagle, however, defending well and not giving Niki any room to create serious threats. The 0-0 score at half-time was in any case, very indicative of the game.

The game had a different rhythm, and clearly a better one, in the second half, with Niki threatening in the 51st minute (Nikolakoulis reacted well to save) and in the 55th minute, while also hitting the post in the 64th minute. PAOK B then had a good shot from Smyrlis in the 64th minute, who then found a way to score in the 88th minute. The first shot was from Goumas and on the rebound Kanis laid it off to Smyrlis who scored with a nice diagonal shot. In the 95th minute, however, also from a set piece, Shapovalov equalized with a header to make it 1-1.

Niki Volos: Misyrlis, Silva (58′ Xenitidis), Johansson, Prodromitis, Mataous (71′ Vlachos), Gantelio (58′ Tsiliggyris), Salamouras, Bernardos, Spyridis (58′ Panagiotou), Koutsipanas (46′ Arias), Sapovalov.

PAOK B: Nikolakoulis, Filon (60′ Kitsakis), Kastidis, Sinanai, Deligiannis (Pasachidis), Kalogiros, Tsopouroglou, Adam (72′ Goumas), Smyrlis, Gitersos (72′ Kanis), Spyrakos (81′ Koulouris).
