FC Spartak Trnava – PAOK: referee

Tobias Welz, an officer of the German police, has been assigned the 2nd leg against FC Spartak Trnava in Slovakia by UEFA.

The 38-year old German was initially assistant referee in the Bundesliga and has been handling matches of the 2.Liga since 2004. He made his top-flight debut in 28 August 2010 in the encounter between 1. FC Nürnberg and SC Freiburg.

He earned his FIFA badge in 2013, taking advantage of the voluntary withdrawals of Knut Kircher and Michael Weiner.

He resides at Wiesbaden and, when younger, he played in local clubs, before turning to refereeing.

At Trnava he will be accompanied by Rafael Foltyn and Christian Bandurski , the assistant referees, with Benjamin Brand acting as fourth official.

Norwegian Jon Skjervold will the the UEFA Referee Observer, while Jacob Erel from Israel is the UEFA Delegate.
