«More compact and realistic football»
Igor Tudor spoke on Novasports TV ahead of the league encounter against Panthrakikos. He analyzed his plans for the game and also spoke about the Krasnodar match. Here is what the Croatian tactician said:
On the team’s condition and his own thoughts after recent setbacks:
«I am always thinking positively and look ahead to the future. This is the last match in a series of three-a-week encounters. We have some problems regarding injuries and fatigue. But there isn’t much to say. We just need to prepare well and be ready for Sunday’s match«.
On the priorities: create a new team or bring results?
«A good result is always a priority. It’s the most important of all, as everyone want to win. It doesn’t always reflect the performance, that’s why everyoen loves football. There are various ways to win, various styles of play. It’s up to us to decide which way to choose in order to achieve the desired result. Especially now we want to be more realistic in our approach of the game, be more compact and gain what we want«.
On the conclusions from the encounter against Krasnodar:
«I was expecting positive things from my players and I saw them. We played against a very good team. It wasn’t easy to face them, but we prepared well and our plans were implemented on the pitch. Our final pass suffered however. Our rivals scored twice thanks to their quality«.
On the encounter against Panthrakikos:
«The Greek Cup match wasn’t easy, especially in the first half. Our rival was very well organized, attack-minded and their defence pressured high up –elements that made our task more difficult. I expect the same on Sunday. But we need to focus on our own team, give it our best and try to win«.
