«Find a way to turn the situation around»
PAOK’s best player against Panetolikos, Alexandros Tziolis, spoke to media representatives after the final whistle and analyzed the reasons behind the team’s poor performance and their overall situation. Here is what he said:
On excuses and the players’ responsibilities:
«Obviously there are no excuses. We have no excuse. It’s a bad result after a bad performance. Of course we have our share of responsibility. We play at PAOK and are title contenders. We need to assume the blame. When we don’t win, it’s normal to hear the fans’ disapproval» .
On the reasons of the draw:
«We have no excuse, I repeat. We didn’t display several things today. We didn’t cut through Panetolikos’ defense. We have no excuse, really…»
On the team’s situation since the defeat at Tripolis:
«I don’t know if something is different. Today there was no special experiment in place. We can’t say that we failed because we were doing something new. Tactics were the same, as you also stated. We played poorly against a so-called ‘weaker’ opponent» .
On how the situation will turn around:
«Everybody is good when things go well… When results are bad though, each one of us must prove their worth and personality. I am not a man of negative thoughts. I think positively. A negative situation doesn’t turn around by itself, we need to turn it around. Each one of us must put the team ahead of themselves and find a way to make it happen» .
