Kehlet began his refereeing career in 2004 from Denmark’s third tier. He soon got promoted to the second division, where he remained for three years before joining the top-flight league. In 2009, he made his Superligaen debut in the encounter between Silkeborg IF and FC Midtjylland. He managed to include himself among Denmark’s best referees in his maiden year.

He earned his FIFA badge in spring 2011 and made his European debut in a UEFA Champions League 2nd qualifying round encounter between Shamrock Rovers FC and FC Flora Tallinn. He handles group stage matches of the UEFA Europa League for the first time this season, having already officiated at AS Monaco – Qarabağ FK and FC Dinamo Minsk – SK Rapid Wien.

He will be accompanied in Toumba by Henrik Larsen and Lars Rix, the assistant referees, with Lars Hummelgaard acting as fourth official. Mads-Kristoffer Kristoffersen andPeter Kjaesgaard-Andersen complete the team as additional assistant referees.

William Young from Scotland has been appointed UEFA Referee observer, while Kris Bellon from Belgium will be the UEFA Delegate in this match.
